Now, for the first time, those of us who sew with the large cones of thread on a thread stand can enjoy the benefits of the thread feeding off the spool from the side, in the same way the thread was put on the spool in the first place. Why is this such a big deal? When the tread comes off the spool from the top the thread will twist which can cause knots, and this can cause shredding and breaking of thread. Smooth stitching, that's a big deal to me.
